Mirror Master — Blender Add-on for Fast, Safe Symmetry 🪞
Watch Tutorial — Discount Link Inside Video Description
🎁 Free Blender AddonMirror Master 🪞 automates the tedious, error-prone steps of creating symmetry in Blender. Instead of manually bisecting, setting origins, creating mirror targets, and tuning merge/clip settings, Mirror Master does it reliably in a single click — saving time and preventing common mistakes (like assigning a modifier’s mirror object to its owner). ✅
Perfect for character artists, hard-surface modelers, and anyone who frequently needs precise mirrored geometry.
What it does
- ✂️ Cleanly bisect meshes along X/Y/Z through object origin or 3D Cursor.
- 🗑️ Delete the chosen half automatically (positive/negative).
- 🎯 Set object origin (Geometry / Bounding Box / 3D Cursor) before mirroring.
- 🔁 Add a preconfigured Mirror modifier (axis, clip, merge threshold).
- 🧭 Create a unique, scene-linked Empty and assign it as
mirror_object(safe — never assigns the owner object). - ▶️ Optional one-click Apply for destructive workflows.
- 🛡️ Robust error handling and helpful warnings for edge cases.
Why you’ll love it
- ⚡ Speed up setup — spend more time modeling, less time fiddling.
- 🧰 Safe & reliable — prevents the common “mirror_object” assignment bug.
- 🔄 Non-destructive workflow — tweak with an Empty before applying.
- 📏 Accurate — consistent origin placement reduces mirror artifacts.

Recommended workflows ✨
Quick symmetry
- Select mesh → Axis = X → Cut Through = Origin → Delete Side = POS → Cut + Mirror. ⚡
Non-destructive exploration
- Use Empty Mirror Object → transform Empty to offset/rotate the mirrored half → apply when satisfied. 🎛️
Precise plane
- Move 3D cursor to exact plane → Cut Through = 3D Cursor → Cut + Mirror. 🎯
FAQ ❓
Q: Which Blender versions are supported?
A: Blender 2.8+ (validated on Blender 3.x). If you hit a version issue, message me and I’ll patch it. 🛠️
Q: I get warnings about bisect or loose verts.
A: Try toggling use_fill in the bisect call (advanced) or increase Merge Distance slightly (0.001 → 0.01). Full troubleshooting in README. 🔧
Q: Can I reuse the same Empty instead of creating many?
A: Planned for v1.2 — for now Mirror Master creates uniquely named empties to avoid conflicts. ♻️
Q: Is this free for commercial projects?
A: See LICENSE.txt included. Typical options: Personal Use (free) / Commercial (paid). Contact me for enterprise licensing. 💼
